In the 1970s, when our patients were seeking treatment abroad for heart diseases, especially coronary bypass, my dear father, our esteemed teacher Prof. Dr. Cem'i Demiroğlu, together with a group of physician friends who shared the same thoughts and came together around the same goal, established the Haseki Cardiology Institute in 1974, and achieved a success story that would provide important services to our country for many years, especially in the treatment of heart diseases.

Florence Nightingale Hospital, which started its operations in 1989 as a small and ambitious health center with 50 beds and performed 250 open heart surgeries per year, has become a large hospital with 352 beds, at international standards and measures, where more than 2000 open heart surgeries are successfully performed per year, in a short time, as a result of the ever-increasing trust and support of our people and the successful work carried out.

I am proud to be leading the healthcare system with the Florence Nightingale Hospitals Group, which consists of four hospitals and three medical centers, one of which is in London, where I started working in 1993 and currently serve as Chairman of the Board.

As Florence Nightingale Group, we have adopted the principle of continuing our culture that comes from a deep-rooted past, together with my other physician colleagues and colleagues, as the representative of the second generation, and constantly carrying the flag we have taken forward, and we have continued on our way by maintaining our competitive advantage, by adopting the principle of providing the highest quality, safest patient care and health services in line with national and international health quality standards in our health care, treatment and service processes.

Our greatest source of pride is to have reached a level where we can compete with the world in healthcare services by using scientific and technological development opportunities with qualified, original human resources, to see that our patients prefer and trust institutions in their own countries instead of going abroad for treatment, and to know that foreign centers that were previously preferred today want to cooperate with Group Florence Nightingale.
